Why we chose it
A Japanese design classic with a beautifully sculptural form. The Hakusan Tomoe Dish takes its name from the traditional Japanese tomoe, a flowing, comma-like motif characterised by a sense of circular movement.
The shallow bowl of the plate accentuates two softly rounded forms flowing into one another, giving it a gentle sense of movement while remaining wonderfully practical. Winner of the Good Design Award in 2000, the style is timeless as movement itself.
Use it for
Main meals, pasta, curries, salads or generous shared dishes. Its gently raised sides also make it useful somewhere between a traditional plate and shallow serving bowl.
